In celebration of Dilla Month, Ear 2 Much Collective along with The J Dilla Foundation are proud to present a screening of Suite ForMa Dukes and a one-on-one interview with J Dilla‘s mother Maureen Yancey aka Ma Dukes at Innis Town Hall. The cost for the admission is $15.00 at the door and the show starts at 2PM. Also this Friday, February 18th, come out to meet Ma Dukes at the at Czehoski’s with DJ Nana, DJ L’oqenz, and special performance by Smash Brovaz and Slakah The Beatchild. All proceeds go to the The J Dilla Foundation, so give generously.

The finalists (Fresh Kils, Memorecks, Peter Project, and Silas) have been selected and this Friday, October 22nd, a new Sound Battle Royale champion will be crowned, taking home $1500 in the process. Before the champ is crowned, they will have to impress the panel of judges, including Rich Kidd, ToneMason, Rodrigo Buscanan from Pound Magazine and world-renowned producer Jake One. Performing for the first time ever in Toronto, L.A. trio, Pac Div, will be invading Revival on Monday, October 4th alongside hometown hero Rich Kidd. If you stay on the cusp of what’s hot, you should have definitely heard of these brothers by now, as they have released several very successful mixtapes (“Church League Champions” and “Don’t Mention It”) in the past couple of years. Pac Div are currently readying their Motown Records debut while Rich Kidd is still pushing his latest mixtape, “We On Some Rich Kidd Shit Vol. 4″. Get more familiar with both after the jump.

With his upcoming album “The Stupendous Adventures of Marco Polo” dropping on June 29th, Marco Polo decided to throw a beat showcase featuring himself and some of Toronto’s rising producers, including Rich Kidd (Saukrates, K-Os, Busta Rhymes, etc.), MoSS (Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface, AZ, etc.), and Frank Dukes (50 Cent, Joell Ortiz, Corey Gunz, Styles P, etc.). Hosted by our very own Arcee, it should be a fantastic night, so get your tickets early and come through.
