Our man D-Sisive is back with more heat. If you haven’t heard his EP “The Book” yet, check .
This time around it’s a new single, “Like This” featuring Guilty Simpson and Dj Grouch on the cuts, plus three other joints, “Up”, “The Flintstones” and “The Outro”. Catch it on iTunes Sept 23rd, here’s a taste for now.
Production by: Muneshine, The Arkeologists, and Justing Trugman.
Check out the latest video from New North alumni, Shad K, and his album “The Old Prince” which dropped year and was definitely one of the best Canadian albums to be released.Hot Dog Garbage production house and Shad combine to re-create everyone’s favourite opening theme from Will Smith’s Fresh Prince Of Bel Air with incredible detail. It’s dope to see Shad paying homage to classic material we all grew up on, while putting his own spin on it.
New mixtape from another one of Toronto’s new school representatives. You’ve probably already heard us playing his single “On My Way” (which is certified heat!) or perhaps “Easy To Please” featuring Drake, which was on Drake’s “Comeback Season” mixtape. If not, I just gave you two very good reasons to download this tape!

Brand new mixtape from my man Daxflow, who if you’ve an avid listener to the show, you’ve probably caught once or twice on our Homegrown segment, as well as in the mix. My fave joints are “Our Lives” and “L.I.F.E.”. Cover art by HustleGrl.
New mixtape from New North alumni, JD Era, along with one of T Dot’s finest DJs, the man called Wristpect. I’ve already heard “Black Magic” (featuring another New North alumni, Drake), “It’s Automatic”, and “Feelin’ Good” featuring Choclair & Solitair, which are all bangers, so I’m pretty amped to peep the rest of this tape! Coincidentally, that’s what I’m about to do, what about you?!
My man Intro just shot me over his new collabo project that I was lucky enough to preview with the man himself a few weeks ago. Majority of the production is supplied by Elaquent, with the exception of track 14. If you’re into lyrics with substance and golden era throwback production, definitely give this a listen! My fave joints are “Lights, Camera, Action”, “Everybody Knows”, “I Got Love”, and “Back In The Day”. Check out the joint “Lights, Camera, Action” at the bottom of this post.
We spotlighted the Empire Click on the New North a few months back, and they dropped this joint ‘Impossible’ P had to wheel it a few times! Here’s the video, directed by The Sharpshooter. Watch for the album “Get It” coming soon.
What’s there to say about this one? Only one-syllable words come to mind for me; sick, filthy, nasty, ill, etc. It’s The KIIIIIIIDDD Famous, Kardinal Offishall, and Tona going in on another Tone Tone Tone Mason production! Inzane, you inspired me with the Heateration 101 collage, so I thought I would put together my half-ass version with MS Paint baby!
We started this New North initiative earlier this year with the intent to shed light and expose people to some homegrown artist we think people should know about. The world knows, the Maestro’s, Saukrates’, Michee Mee’s and Kardinal’s but, there’s a whole group of artists right behind them. So for a month we each show we spotlight an artist for the entire show, debuting new material and getting a bit more in depth. The feedback from artists and listeners alike has been positive. This edition we decided to take it a step further, we had four MC’s and a producer, why not do a song with all of them. When the idea was presented to them everyone was on board.
We took a little while debating on a title for the track, so ladies and gentlemen The Real Frequency along with Grimace, Theo, Shad, Famous and Tone Mason present: “Heateration 101″.
