In episode 2, Curren$y helps to disprove the myths that driving stoned impairs your reaction time and that indulging in the trees decrease your sex drive. Personally, I find myself more attentive when driving after smoking because I am paranoid the boys in blue will pull me over more than usual (especially if I’m holding). Also, all I know is after I smoke, the drive is much longer and performance is enhanced.

We receive a lot of music submissions here are The Real Frequency, some good, some bad, many horrendous.   Please feel free to keep sending and if we like it, you might just see it up on here.  If you don’t get a response, it’s nothing personal, stay on your grind!  J. Nolan, an Atlanta resident with major East Coast influences hit me up with his new collabo mixtape with Brick City producer Yung B.  I was pleasantly surprised at the hard-hitting, soulful production from Yung B and the great lyricism from J. Nolan.  I’m feelin’ a bunch of joints on here (1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 15, 21).  Also, be sure check out his video for “Soul Brother”.  Track list and link after the jump.

Curren$y “The Hot Spitta”, reppin’ New Orleans links up with The Smoking Section for their clever MythBlazers series (nice take on the MythBusters show).  I haven’t really taken in dude’s music (I’ll get around to it), but I know he has a ton of mixtapes out there.  For now, he’s atleast caught my attention by discussing a subject near and dear to myself and Arcee (chRANA!).  In this episode the fellas discuss solutions for desperate times (I can remember one that was pretty pathetic in high school lol) and test how smoke-able (yeah I know it’s not a word) the different parts of the trees are.

I was perusing through the hommie Jake One’s blog and noticed I completely slept on a gem that Arcee has been telling me about for a while; the original version of “Glow” featuring 3 solo verses from the lyrical beast Elzhi. If you haven’t picked up one of the year’s best albums, you still have time to redeem yourself. Props to Jake for leaking this, hope to hear more, hommie!

I gave y’all the heads up on this group previously and it looks like they got some big things poppin’ off in the new year, including this documentary about their development and their debut LP “The High Life”, which I’m sure will feature plenty of production from 9th Wonder and hopefully another collabo with Skyzoo. Props to Erica for bringing this to my attention.

Definitely feeling this beat, as usual, Jake One did his thing. Lyrics by Kaze are on point as well. The hook from the chubby T-Pain clone… not so much. If you’re feeling this, be sure to support Kaze or Silent Knight in Loud’s BattleRap contest.
