In celebration of Dilla Month, Ear 2 Much Collective along with The J Dilla Foundation are proud to present a screening of Suite ForMa Dukes and a one-on-one interview with J Dilla‘s mother Maureen Yancey aka Ma Dukes at Innis Town Hall. The cost for the admission is $15.00 at the door and the show starts at 2PM. Also this Friday, February 18th, come out to meet Ma Dukes at the at Czehoski’s with DJ NanaDJ L’oqenz, and special performance by Smash Brovaz and Slakah The Beatchild. All proceeds go to the The J Dilla Foundation, so give generously.

Here’s the visuals from Mixtaper Masssacre’s final show that went down the past Saturday with some of Toronto’s elite emcees. Due to the CRTC’s decision to revoke CKLN 88.1′s broadcasting license, many of our affiliate shows like Droppin’ Dimez and Mixtape Massacre have been forced to shut down. The coveted 1-4PM time slot that Mixtape Massacre inherited from us has a tremendous legacy, as it has been home to other pivotal shows like Ron Nelson’s Fantastic Voyage and DJ X’s Powermove that have done a lot for Canadian Hip-Hop. Thanks to Big Jacks, we have the audio of  Mixtape Massacre‘s final show, which includes some fiery mixes, a freestyle cypher by Smash Brovaz, Thrust, 4th Pyramid, Rich Kidd, P R E S S, Tona and Adam Bomb, phone calls from Ron Nelson, K-Os, P-Plus, Citizen Kane and more.  If you are a supporter of community radio, I strongly encourage you to sign the petition on CKLN.FM to keep this station alive.

In the first installment, we get a look at Fifth Letter Fam/Freedom Writers emcee Adam Bomb’s new video My People” (produced and directed by Big Sproxx), Tona‘s new video for “Blue Shield”,  a quick 16 from newcomer Caliph, and some commentary from D-Sisive about his latest video. All the gentlemen also give updates on their respective upcoming projects.
