This is the first release from our album, The New North. We gathered some of Toronto’s (and London’s in this case) finest to put together this compilation.
Flawless features Shad with production from Frank Dukes. This joint incites visions of action, James Bond type ish, or some anime type joints. So it was fitting to add some anime visuals to this song, from the classic Ninja Scroll. Frank Dukes had this to say about this song:
“After learning I would be working with Shad, I knew I wanted to bring him into a different zone than what people were accustomed to or might expect from him thus far. I gave him a rugged, aggressive beat that he absolutely bodied, which kind of led to the title of the song.”
Yeah, we all bugged when we heard him on this. Shouts to Dj Dopey for the cuts.

Pairing together MC’s, producers, singers, and DJ’s from the city. The compilation features JD Era, Kardinal Offishall, Moss, Ayah, Rich Kidd, Tona, Boi-1-Da and more. The lead single “Flawless” features Potholes favourite Shad along with Frank Dukes on the beat. Frank Dukes produced a few of songs on Ghostface Killah’s last album Apollo Kids. The song, which also features cuts from DJ Dopey, kicks into full gear from jump, with Frank Dukes’ gritty beat. Shad’s slick wordplay fits snuggly over the driving bass line and well-placed horn chops, an instrument selection that was a conscious decision for Dukes.
