Another crazy record off the new Ghostface “Apollo Kids” LP, produced by Toronto producer Frank Dukes, who landed 3 tracks on the LP after choosing to collaborate with Ghostface as part of his reward for winning last year’s Red Bull Big Tune Finals. Congrats to Dukes, who in the past year has garnered a list of production credits most producers take over a decade to accumulate. Peace to 2DopeBoyz on the linkage.

Boi-1da gets some face time on the Carson Daily Show to discuss his come up, how he structures his beats without any formal music training, and more. Carson also mentions that 1da will be featured on 50 Cent‘s new album in 2011. Props to Jose3030 on the footage.

Toronto beatsmith Lyve is mainly known for his production but he is also pretty crafty on the 1s and 2s, so usually around the christmas time Lyve likes to make a smoothed out mix for anyone who is into Neo-soul/R&B/Hip-Hop. On volume 3 he lets loose joints from Slum Village, Pac Div, Dwele, Miguel, David Banner, J Dilla, Mayer Hawthorne, J. Cole, Curren$y, Ayah, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Redman, Devin The Dude, Foreign ExchangeHighDef, and more. Artwork by FRMTHEGRDUP. Track list and download link after the jump.

Ghostface enlists his Wu-Tang brothers Raekwon, Method Man and Redman to smash a Jake One beat for one of the best joints from his stellar “Apollo Kids” LP, which drops this Tuesday, December 21st. The album also features production additional production from Toronto producer Frank Dukes (2 tracks), Pete Rock, and Grind Music, as well as guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Black Thought, The Game, Joell Ortiz, GZA, and more. Ghost needs to get crowned king of consistency at some point because he’s yet to really falter with any of his albums. Shoutouts to X on the linkage.

Perhaps my favourite Roc Marciano joint of 2010 gets the remix treatment  from the mic-mangler himself, Sean Mandela aka Sean Price. After producing the entire “Marcberg” LP himself, Roc reached out to some heavy hitters for “Reloaded”, including Madlib, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, Large Pro, Alchemist and Just Blaze. Peace to 2DopeBoyz on the linkage.
