Some visuals from Blu‘s recently-released lost project, The GodLeeBarnes LP (which is floating around online) for a joint which includes the classic “Old School” (the movie) sample in the title.

On October 5, come out the official NBA 2K11 launch party, at which the homie DJ P-Plus will be holding his 2nd annual tournament in an effort to raise money for The Remix Project. Music will be supplied by DJ Starting From Scratch, DJ Agile, DJ Spoonz, DJ Lisa Monet and many more. If your skills are up to par, registration for the tournament is only $30, but spaces are extremely limited.

Dogg Pound member Kurupt drops dope visuals for this Terrace Martin-laced heatrock. Directed by Calmatic, the majority of the video was flimed in Fat Beats LA, which recently closed down.

Spotted at CK (via Royal Flush), eLZhi & Phat Kat talk about their new collaborative LP under the moniker Cold Steel (after the classic joint they did together with J Dilla). eLZhi also speaks on potentially working with Madlib and 9th Wonder (again) and his departure from Slum Village while Phat Kat says he will be “bring back cassettes” and plans to release future material thoughs 45s, 12 inches, and videos only.

A quick review of Slakah The Beatchild‘s upcoming 7-track EP (dropping October 25th on BBE Records) by the homie Element with a preview of one of tracks included on it, “Things I Do For Her”, which can be heard below.

Rich Kidd and 4th Pyramid join Crazy Legs of the Legendary Rock Steady Crew to drop some bars (at the 1 hour mark and thereafter) over some classic breaks.

On October 1st, the first stop of The Smokers Club Tour featuring Curren$y, Smoke DZA & Big K.R.I.T. comes to Toronto with T.O.’s own JD Era opening up. The show is presented by Smash Mouth Ent. and tickets are available here. If you’re not fully up on the fellas, their latest mixtapes are below and their latest videos are after the jump.

It’s been a busy week in Toronto with all of The Manifesto festivities but here’s an event you might want to attend if you have no plans tonight. The Final Round of Sound Battle Royale goes down tonight at The Drake Underground  Hotel (1150 Queen St West) with music provided by DJ Mel Boogie and Junia T on hosting duties. The battle will be judged Mac Soundsmith, Neenyo, Rich Kidd and Tone Mason. Special performances by Theology 3 and J Shiltz.  Cover is $5 before 11pm and 10 bucks after 11pm, this is 19+ event so make sure you come through to find out who gets crowned the champ of Sound Battle Royale.  For more info about this event, check the flyer after the jump.
