As some of you may have heard, Slum Village is currently going through some turmoil, which mainly stems from a disagreement between Elzhi and Barak Records, the record label behind the group. As a result, Elzhi has been taken off 6 of the 13 songs on the new Slum Village album, “Villa Manifesto”. In an interview with WJLB, Elzhi discussed why he did not appear in the “Reunion Part 2″ video and his current turbulent relationship with T3 and the label. Ofcourse every story has two sides and T3 gave his in an interview with Kevin Nottingham. Regardless, it definitely seems like this is the last Slum Village album, which is a shame. On the positive side, we can look forward to more Elzhi solo material.
