“And we’re back.  Almost a year and a half into our monthly dig diary with no signs of slowing. This month, the hommie Kaewonder and I return with a genre-bending hour of Caribbean Funk, Sweet Soul, Folk-Psych, Spiritual Jazz and Brazilian Rock. None of which we downloaded off the Internet. But hey, that shouldn’t stop you. Cratery 16. Enjoy.” - ARCEE

“Growing up, “Where The Wilds Things Are was one of those books you could always depend on. Luckily, last year Spike Jonze gave it the Hollywood treatment, supported by a magnificent soundscape by Karen O. Today, producer Emay has decided to hit the boards and rework some of those nostalgic masterpieces into heavy hitting tracks of his own. Featuring 6 songs of pure instrumental bliss, the Canadian musician has done it once again.”

This show is dedicated to Keith “Guru” Elam. When thinking of guests, the only bigger Gang Starr head than Inzane we could think of was Big Sproxx of 16 Bars. We were sure he’d have some strong opinions on Solar as well. As an added surprise OTA Lives’ Ty Harper joins us as we go over our favourite Gang Starr albums, the uniqueness of “The Voice” and Guru’s influence on bringing Jazz and Hip Hop together. Looking back you really begin to appreciate his contributions. R.I.P.

After a couple of leaks, the latest mixtape from Pac Div featuring 13 new cuts is now available for your listening pleasure. T.O’s own Colin Munroe even makes an appearance. Track list and download after the cut. Read the rest of this entry »
