Some new Solitair, taken from his upcoming project, “The Departure”. Hopefully MP3 will soon come because this joint is on that vintage Solitair vibe that is always welcome in my books.

After an exchange of words on Twitter with 9th Wonder regarding the latest Little Brother joint, Phonte felt the need to clear the air about the relationship between himself, Rapper Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder and some of the issues between them that might have led to Little Brother disbanding.

Here’s a leak that won’t be featured on Little Brother‘s final album together. Tay mentions this is the last track himself, Rapper Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder recorded together before disbanding and gives the inside scoop on why it won’t be used on the forthcoming album:

“”This was recorded back in ’05-06 at Young Guru‘s crib sometime after the release of Minstrel Show. This was intended for “Leftback” as an iTunes bonus track but we just got word today that @9thwondermusic doesn’t want us to use it for whatever reason, and that’s fine. In any event, I’m not gonna let anything or anybody stop me from getting music to my fans. Fuck that. Enjoy. And as always, thank you for listening.”" - Phonte

Second single from Erykah Badu‘s upcoming album “New Amerykah Part Two (Return Of The Ankh)”, dropping this coming Tuesday, March 30th. I dig this much more than the first single with Lil’ Wayne since it has vintage Badu vibe. Be sure to watch until the end of the video for a little surprise.

Don’t worry, Akon only does the hook, and the record is actually dope. Peace to my man Ian from A Different Kitchen on the linkage.

Producer/vocalist Slakah The Beatchild (of The Art Of Fresh) gives K-Os’ “Zambony” a more vibrant, up-tempo twist.

I got put onto this new emcee outta T.O. by the homie DJ P-Plus, as he has been bangin’ one of the joints off this mixtape (“Dem Nah Worry Me”) on the show for a couple of weeks. Since I’m always looking for the dopest music coming out of the city, I had check out the mixtape and see if dude had more to offer than just that one joint. Having done that now, I can definitely confirm he does, and it’s even more impressive considering Die-Rek also produced the entire tape (except for “The Word”). I’ve included a joint featuring Promise above as a sample, grab the full tape after the cut. Read the rest of this entry »

Eternia linked up with HipHopDX while she was at SXSW to talk about her album “At Last“, choosing to release it through Fat Beats, how she met MoSS and why “Toronto is the Hip Hop Capital of the World” (as stated by 9th Wonder earlier this year around the time of the Manifesto Festival).
