Comedian/actor Aziz Ansari will be releasing a mixtape entitled “RAAAAAAANDY” with producer Dave Sitek. On this first leak, Aziz’s his hip hop alias RAAAAAAANDY goes in on current hip hop artists such as Toronto’s own Drake, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Jay-Z, Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, Ludacris and MF Doom for taking too long to submit their verses. Peace to NahRight on the linkage!
Ed Lover goes in on Tiger Woods and his uninspired apology press conference and even calls him Count Chocula (*dead*). He also goes in on John Mayer for dropping the n-bomb, TMZ Paparazzi/Travis Barker beef, the 67-year old “Epic Beard Guy” (as the Internet has dubbed him) who delivered a mean beatdown to that young dude, and that horrendous “We Are The World” remake.
“In Episode #15, Eternia does the radio show rounds and announces on air to the world, “We Got a Record Deal!!” The Record Label remains a secret, however, as Eternia promotes the “AT LAST (We Got a Record Deal) JAM!” on Fri. Feb 26th @ Sputnik in BK!. A.G. (D.I.T.C.) & El Da Sensei (Artifacts) extend their congrats, and E gets open on the ‘Exhibit C’ track @ Beatminerz Radio w/ Crazy DJ Bazarro.”
Great to see all the hard work finally paying off for Eternia and MoSS! Definitely looking forward to hearing the album, as the tracks we premiered were absolute murder.
Little outtake from Famous’ “Goddess Girl” mini-movie that didn’t make it past the cutting room floor. Also, check out the re-mastered version of one of the joints from the soundtrack below.
Famous – I Wanna Know Your Name (Prod. Burd & Keyz) (Remastered)

Hot off the presses, new Rich Kidd we just premiered on the show. Rich switchin’ up the style, taking a more conversational approach as the homie Arcee so eloquently put it.

The Source chops it up with Boi-1da, talking how he got together with Drake, how Drake’s “Uptown” came about, how Sylvia Rhone (president of Motown Records) initially compared Drake to Nick Cannon (LOL! ridiculous), and upcoming work with The Game, Jazmine Sullivan, Busta Rhymes, & more. Check out the full article here!
“The Source: Describe your first big break as a producer.
Boi-1da: Up in Toronto they have this competition called “Battle Of The Beatmakers,” and I won three straight times. After that I worked with Famous, Kardinal Offishall, Richie Sosa, pretty much everyone up in Canada.
The Source: Which led to you meeting Drake.
Boi-1da: Yeah, I got introduced to him through one of my good friends, and he was just like ‘yeah, this kid from DeGrassi wants to work with you,’ and before I met him I was like ‘aw, man, not dude in the wheelchair, you got to be kidding me, you know?’ He sent me a track called “Money” which blew me away, he was the total package. The first track we did was “Do What You Do,” which got picked up by the radio and was in heavy rotation up here.
The Source: Yeah, little did we know, right?
Boi-1da: We knew his talent, and he was getting in these meetings with these labels but nobody was taking him seriously. He sat down with Sylvia Rhone and she said she simply didn’t know how to market him. I remember she compared him to Nick Cannon, and that crushed him. I told him to keep his head up after that, that his time would come.
The Source: You two seem to be like that next artist/producer combination that seem to always work.
Boi-1da: Drake is very passionate about his music. He’ll call me up and say something like ‘yo, I need this type of beat to bring out this type of emotion,‘ and we always seem to work out. Drake was telling me how Lil’ Wayne kept singing ‘Uptown Girl’ by Billy Joel. I hit the studio and my boy played the horns on that track and we chopped up the sample and sent it to him on the road. Wayne loved it and then Bun B hopped on it and made ‘Uptown’.
The Source: Now your riding the wave of ‘Best I Ever Had.’
Boi-1da: Yeah, that‘s the biggest song of my career, and my first #1 song. To have Kanye direct the video was so inspiring. His creative process is crazy, he literally blacks out while people are talking to him, and then he just lets loose with what is on his mind. Because of that song I’ve gotten to work with everyone from Busta Rhymes, Wayne, Leona Lewis, Jazzmine Sullivan, Danity Kane, literally everyone I’ve ever wanted to work with.
The Source: So what else have you been working on?
Boi-1da: I’ve been working with The Game on The R.E.D. album which is crazy. They flew me out to L.A. to play him some beats, he played me some songs and they sound out of this world. I don’t know how to describe it man, you just got to hear it when it comes out.”
