Here’s your chance to listen to Drake’s first mixtape, “Room For Improvement“, without DJ Smallz, who originally hosted the mixtape. This mixtape shows Drake in his earlier years and features Boi-1da-produced heaters like “City is Mine” and “Do What You Do“, plus guest appearances from Nickelus F, Malice of The Clipse, & more. This is defiinitely worth the download if your a big fan of Drake just to see his artistic evolution over the years. Shouts to AllThingsFresh and HustleGrl on the link! Track list and link after the jump.

A documentary into the life of Kim Peek, the real-life inspiration behind the movie “Rain Man”. Although considered “mentally retarded”, he can read a page of a book in 8-10 seconds and has an incredibly deep and wide memory, for which he has been dubbed as the “living Google”. Parts 2-5 after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Taking it back to 1999, when Mathematik dropped one of the most slept-on albums of all time, his debut LP, “Ecology”. The crazy thing is dude hasn’t lost a step since then.

Gotta say I love Throwback Thursdays and so here’s my pick for today. Before Slum Village came out with “Selfish“, Toronto’s own Fin-S grabbed this Aretha Franklin sampled joint “Call Me” and flipped it nicely on his joint “I Love You“.

Lupe Fiasco come with a Thanksgiving treat to all his fellow American fans with this “cassette style” mixtape a la mp3, entitled “Enemy of The State“. A short but sweet mixtape, Lupe comes hard on 11 joints and shows why he is still one of the most underrated emcees in this game. Spotted @ 2DopeBoyz, artwork courtesy of Shake, which is a definite upgrade from the original artwork which was really weak! Check the tracklist and download link after the jump.

Now this is a must download for all my De La Soul heads out there. Mick Boogie and Terry Urban celebrate De La Soul’s 20 years of music by flippin’ their infamous chunes and getting some real dope emcees on it. Artists featured on this mixtape include Toronto’s own Kardinall (Kills it on the “Me, Myself and I“), Phife Dawg (ATCQ),  another Toronto Native Colin Monroe pairs up with Skillz on “Baby Phat” and Tanya Morgan on “Breakadawn“, plus more! Production by 6th Sense, J.Rawls, Remot, Kickdrums and more. I gave enough info on this sick mixtape so I strongly encourage you to download this! Props to 2DopeBoyz on the linkage. Track list and Link after the jump!
