After a couple of leaks, it’s now time to unleash D-Sisive‘s new full album, “Jonestown”, in all it’s glory! As previously mentioned, production comes courtesy of Muneshine (x5), MoSS, Marco Polo, Anonymous Twist, Murr (x2), The Dirty Sample, and 9th Uno. Guest appearances from Muneshine, Slim Twig, & DJ Grouch (on the cuts). This album is different from D-Sisive’s last release, “Let The Children Die” (which was dark and introspective), as it has D-Sisive returning to his battle roots and getting at all the people who called him “an emo rapper”. Hit the jump to hear what all the hype is about.
“You know where you are? You’re in the jungle, baby.
D-Sisive returns with his newest creation, Jonestown. The free album is the follow up to his Polaris Long-Listed album ‘Let The Children Die’, which featured the SOCAN/Echo award winning song ‘Nobody With A Notepad’.
“It’s the Kool Aid,” describes D-Sisive of his newest LP. The Juno nominated artist decided to take a break from his dark/depressing content to focus on the “punchline/battle-rap” style he became known for in the late nineties. The album boasts production from heavyweights Muneshine (Sean Price), Moss (Ghostface, Obie Trice), Anonymous Twist (Planet Asia), Murr (LAL, formerly of The Grassroots), Toronto-born/NY-based Marco Polo (Heltah Skeltah, Masta Ace), 9th Uno and Shinogo. Toronto artist Slim Twig (paper bag records) also makes an appearance on the Shinogo produced ‘Around The World’. The Muneshine produced single ‘West Coast’ is already charting across the country.
“It’s a secret,” laughs D-Sisive after asked to explain the connection between the album’s content and it’s title. Jonestown will be released Wednesday, November 18, 2009, also marking the 31st anniversary of the Jonestown Massacre.”
