Element

New joint from the homie Element, produced by Proh Mic, on the summer time vibe. Too bad there’s no summer to speak of to enjoy it in.

Señor Kaos – Automatic Classic OFFICIAL VIDEO from Señor Kaos on Vimeo.

The homie Señor Kaos drops another video from his “Swagger Is Nothing, Talent Is Everything” mixtape, in preperation for his upcoming new project that will be released on September 22nd entitled “Walk Softly And Carry A Big Brick” featuring Wale, Curren$y, Bun B, Punchline, Binkis Recs, Jaspects, Stacy Epps, P.So, 4th Pyramid, John Robinson, and more. Also featuring production from Large Professor, Von Pea (Tanya Morgan), Jake One, 9th Wonder, DJ Spinna and more. “Automatic Classic” is now available for purchase on iTunes via High Water Music.

Truthfully, my favourite joint from DJ Spinna’s latest LP, Sonic Smash, is “Call Me Señor”, so you know I’ll be checking for this new project. Hit the jump to see how Spinna & Señor Kaos cooked it up. Read the rest of this entry »

First he got with Pharrell & Jay-Z, now Nardwuar gets Nas to talk about some classic records, including Main Source’s “Breaking Atoms” and the sample behind “You’re Da Man” until he irritates Nas to the point where he calls him a psycho haha.

Damn, Nas, you couldn’t take some time to get on two of the biggest albums (Raekwon & Jay-Z) of the year? You’re my boy and all, so that “Distant Relatives” album w/ Damian Marley better be straight heateration!

Empire’s secret weapon, Talk Sick checks in to talk about his new mixtape, entitled, what else… The Secret Weapon. Another secret weapon producer C4, who has worked with JD Era, Rich Kidd, and produced that Taco Bell commercial with the cat throwing money away is also in studio to become less of a secret and show how much of a weapon he really is.

King Reign, Tona, Richie Hennessy, & Lyve Open Up For Busta Rhymes in Barrie from Real Frequency on Vimeo.

I had the pleasure of rolling with the homies King Reign, Tona, Richie Hennessy, Lyve, and my man Kairo to the Busta Rhymes show in Barrie this past friday. The fellas warmed up the crowd by performing bangers like:

King Reign – Somebody Lied (Prod. Rich Kidd) (Exclusive)
Brassmunk – Take It Easy
Tona – Dial Tone
King Reign f/ Saukrates, Tona, & Rich Kidd – Soaring To Heaven (Prod. Rich Kidd)
King Reign f/ Saukrates & T.R.A.C.K.S. – The Audacity Of Hope (Prod. Rich Kidd)

This is just a little taste of what you can expect from King Reign‘s mixtape, “Reign Music”, which we’ll be dropping next week. Production is handled primarily by Rich Kidd, with Boi 1da lending a hand, and guest appearances from Saukrates, Drake, Tona, & Pharoahe Monch!

Footage of the De La Soul show that took place this past Sunday. Since I was out in Barrie and Guelph for most of the weekend, I was way too tired to attend this (plus I’ve seen De La many many times live), so a great look from the homie Ro Shine over at TOFlo to grab some footage and recap the night:

“After De La ran through most of their classics and the show was officially over, Maseo was having so much fun with the Toronto crowd that he refused to get off stage. He then broke out his record collection and spun for well over an hour after the show. The Phoenix Concert Theater was transformed into a impromptu nightclub. This night will definitely go down in Toronto Hip Hip History.”
