Not having a good day?

Former Universal Music Canada A&R David ‘Click’ Cox is our guest this week. We go through some more T-Dot history, going back to the Illemental days and get some inside on how it all came togther. And a look at respect in hip hop. Plus we put a couple of artists on blast!

  1. daShank Said,

    Yo! Nice one y’all.
Those Illamental days still bring a tear to my eyes…Slum Village, Bahamadia, Jeru in sweaty Spadina room, ceilings dripping..fuck! and I’m only 15 minutes into the episode.
Nice to bump into Click at the market when I was back in Tdot a few months ago!

  2. Always Start Locally | Beat Brokers Said,

[...] – a former Universal Music Canada A&R – feels the same way. Check him out on ‘Differently Still Guy‘ as he discusses the music scene in Canada, the state of hip hop, various strategies to get [...]

  3. DJ Bozo Said,

Don’t feel bad about Chi-Ali, I’ve had to excuse a lot of things from my youth. The one that makes me shake my head and ask, “what the f*** was I thinking,” was Mase – picked up his debut album the day it dropped. Man… wish I was making that up!

It’s so true what you guys mentioned about a good attitude. You could have all the skills in the world (whether it be MCing, DJing, directing a film, etc.) but if you don’t have the right attitude, people aren’t gonna wanna get down with you.

HI-larious: “No label says I’m gonna put out an album to defend ourselves.”

Hollerate!
