Bishop Brigante continues his “Gambling Stories” web series by catching up with fellow T Dot artist Drake and gets the highs and lows from him on his gambling ventures.  Drake also reflects on the infamous “The Watch” video against Brigante himself. And since I missed posting the last two with K’Naan and Joe Budden, catch those after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

This is the type of raw heat I’d like to see more from 9th Wonder, especially with 3 raw emcees on the track. Taken from Young Chris‘ latest mixtape, “The Network”.

“I made Devil’s Son, I didn’t want to be responsible for that shit. I said you really gon’ say this shit on wax man? He said “I don’t give a fuck”. We went up to Sony and played this shit for the dude that was in charge. I don’t know if he was some satanic worshippin’ muhfucka, but he was like “yeeeeeah, this is the shit right here! We gonna put this out first!”Showbiz

This looks dope as hell, glad Big L‘s story will be told, just like Biggie, Pac, and Pun, because he definitely belongs in the same echelon. If L didn’t pass, Jay-Z wouldn’t be where he is today, real talk. SMH at people STILL spelling Primo’s name as “Premiere” though. Props to my man Illionaire on the find!

Welcome Quackass!

You may notice a new name posting items on the blog, for the two of you who actually pay attention to that. We welcome the homie Quackass (screwfacecityhiphop.blogspot.com) as our newest contributor to the Real Frequency Blog. I could give you a brief history, but I hate long winded writing so I won’t. What I will say is that he has great passion for this Hip Hop shit, especially T-Dot shit and was able to endure the harsh interview and beating process. Heal up son, and welcome aboard. Now Keezy has someone to boss around. (I kid)

Spotted at 2DopeBoyz, Brother Ali answer a question posed by one of his fans:

“Is it ok to download music as long as you spread the word and go to the shows?”

This is a very real question in this digital age, so if you got something to add, speak on it. I’m a firm believer of supporting albums that are worth it, so I might download something and buy it thereafter if it’s worthy.  I think the next question should be, “Is it ok if I download your album and I put up it on my blog to spread the word? You can email me to take it down if it’s not, even though it might be too late by then” because I see a lot of people thinking that type of behaviour is acceptable too haha.

“Us boys like ‘em thick… short weaves, curls, braids… I take ‘em buck 50, 60 with them thick legs

I remember a certain man that had a similar weight requirement but we won’t blow up that spot haha. Taken from Ghostface‘s upcoming LP, “The Wizard Of Poetry: In Emerald City”. Is it just me, or is Raheem DeVaughn using autotune on this? Still dope, nonetheless.
