I don’t know how some people are still frontin’ on Twitter. For music, it’s like heatery brought to your doorstep, which is a beautiful thin in my opinion. Anyways, here goes an unexpected collabo from David Banner and 9th Wonder, taken from 9th’s upcoming mixtape, dropping soon.
More heat from the new Method Man and Redman album, “Blackout 2″, in the form of the first single. This is hella soulful for a commercial single. Shout out to Rawle on the linkage!
The homie C4 continues to put in work, inviting The Kid Famous & Neenah along for the ride:
“I teamed up wit an amazingly talented singer named Neenah. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the London Battle where we went head to head ( no hard feelings). We kept in touch and sent her this beat and she just killed it ! I later sent the song to Famous who gave me a nice Montreal introduction. A jew and and a muslim making lasting music. That’s the way it should be.”
True story, when I first started at Real Freqs, I would request Troy Dunnit‘s “Mindblowin” every week, regardless if it was played already. Good to see Troy is still on his grind, linking up with Lotus, for the first single off the “Anti-Cupid EP”. This video is visual crack. Directed by Patrick Antoniewicz.
Official video for Shaun Boothe‘s single featuring the lovely Amanda Diva from the upcoming “Hip-Hop In 3D” mixtape. Shaun willbe joining us on the finale of the New North on May 4th to help debut a track f/ himself, Richie Sosa, King Reign, and Rich Kidd, amongst other exclusives!
The homie C4 just hit me with his latest production for P-Plus’ favourite game, Scrabble. You might remember C4 from the “Taco Bell” spot that he also created. Here’s some details as to how this came about:
“I’m really excited about this new project which has been on the move for quite some time now. The animation is finally completed and you can now view the spot! Rumor has it that the spot will be in contention at this year’s International Advertising Festival in Cannes. The spot airs in Europe and is part of Scrabble’s new campaign by one of the world’s best advertising agencies. Here’s how the project worked. The creative team gave me 30 words and asked me to make a song that would work with animation. The words were so random, it was really a challenge to write them in a way that would make sense.I decided to make a character by faking a british accent and talk about a dream the man had about a Hula dancer. For those who don’t know, I am not British at all so this was a bit of a stretch but it worked out in the end!”
Well done fam, corporate $ > music $ any day! You’re accent was killing me though, sounding like a British Young Jeezy.
We here at the Real Freqs are into good music period, not just Hip-Hop, so I had to take a listen to the following joints when Ryan hit me up. Glad I did because “She’s Nuts” is hilarious and “Ain’t No Love In The Club” (after the jump) is dope. Here’s some info on Wylde Bunch:
“The musical offspring of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sly Stone, Wylde Bunch have created an undeniable niche with their explosive sound and fearless genre mixing. In recent years, Wylde Bunch has had music featured in movies, video games and television. With “Abuse Thys Substance”, on Surfdog Records, this ten-piece band has taken their ambitious, genre defying sound to new heights.”
