If you haven’t heard Jake One’s “White Van Music” yet, get off the Nyquill and cop a copy because its one of the most underrated LPs this year (my pick on the Real Freq Awards)! Jake put together a well-rounded album featuring an all-star cast of emcees, such as Little Brother, Busta Rhymes, Freeway, M.O.P., Elzhi, Royce Da 5′9, Posdnous, Prodigy, producers Black Milk, Alchemist, and Nottz, and up-and-comers such as Bishop Lamont and even some local Seattle talent.  My peoples over at Kevin Nottingham, conducted a a very in-depth interview with Jake about the creative process behind the album, how the collaborations were selected, sample “snitching”, and a whole lot more, so it’s a must read/listen!
