You seen The Roots, De La? If it’s a big Hip Hop show in Toronto, REMG and Jon Ramos probably have something to do with it. We find out about his worldwide hook up powers, what he would be doing if he wasn’t promoting shows, the origins of Keez open doors, and what constitutes good restaurant service.

Another great DSG episode as usual fellas…Too bad u guys started talking about the great adventures of Jon Ramos aka Mr.REMG cuase shit was classic. Was nice to see you have him on the show, if it wasnt for this guy we wouldn’t be able to see artists like Slum Village, Common, De La Soul and etc, perform in Toronto.

My favourite shows in from REMG had to be Jeru @ CZ aka Comfort Zone circa 2000 and the shit was packed….will never forget P-Plus playing Mobb Deeps “Survival of The Fittest” and the whole crowd was going nuts. The crowd was so intense I thought the vents were about to drop on someones head!!! One show that I def heard was a memorable was The Arsonists and Masta Ace I think in 2000 and 2001, which I never got to go but was crazy.

  2. arcee Said,

my fav had to be either SV at the Comfort Zone – original line up – T3, Baatin and of course, Dilla. Grassroots opened up. Or The Roots at the CNE Bandshell (Their 2nd show in Toronto) or DJ Premier’s first appearance at “DOIN’ IT”. Anyhow, kudos to Ramos for 15 years of putting on great shows despite the haters. Anyone else in this city would have given up a long time ago…lol…

  3. Quackass Said,

The SV show @ CZ, didn’t Sauks and Choclair do that show too…cuase I remember going to that show too…oh yeah another show I forgot mention that Ramos did that was flipping nuts was the Smut Peddllers show @ Opera House! Flippin Cage was throwing vegatables @ the crowd and ice cubes @ people was flippin hilarious and peeps were moshing ing the crowd!!! NUTS….

  6. Son of S.O.U.L. Said,

My R.E.M.G show faves (the short list): The SV Comfort Zone show…..no question. The Crazy Legs show where I got invited to play at Rocksteady, Jill Scott, THE FIRST ROOTS SHOW, and the 416 Graf Expo where Johnny battled me on the wheels. He got so hyped while I was playing, he went home and got his crate and came back, lmao!!! I got nothing but love and respect for Johnny Ray; the first party I did was an after hours thing he had at his original office at the Paramount (94)…..that I can never forget, and I’m thankful for that.
