Here’s a late pass if you’re not up on these brothers! “Truth, Consequence, Dirty Melodies” is the unreleased debut album from the trio that is Maspyke, with Hanif and Tableek on the rhymes, DJ Roddy Rod on the beats.  Unfortunately, it is unmastered, but on the bright side, it contains such classics as “Far East Politics”, “Spirit Of 92″, “All Things Fall”, and “Afraid Of The Light”.  Check the jump for the track list and link.  If you need more Maspyke in your life, I would suggest copping The “Static” LP. Skillz – For Real (VIDEO)

Posted by vatkeezy under Heateration, Videos

Skillz – “For Real” from Three/21 Films on Vimeo.

Video for P-Plus’ favourite joint off the “The Million Dollar Backpack”. I’ll let you guess who directed it… hint, his initials are the same as the alias of one of the Freqs. He’s directed pretty much everything lately.

Remember this guy? Let me just say I have yet to listen to this and not sure if I will, but I thought I would post it for the hilarious cover alone.  Kanye, Weezy, Akon, T-Pain and not quite sure who that is on the far left.   Also, check out track 8 on the track listing, as it seems 1/2 of M.O.P. has ventured into R&B haha. Death of Autotune

Posted by musikleeinzane under Foolishness, Heateration

I’m sure, well hoping that readers of this blog are tired of the whole autotune craze. If Kanye’s album is not proof enough that is should be put to bed these guys take it to another level. I spotted this over at RappersIKnow.com check this album from Roger Riley and Teddy Troutman, ‘Death of Autotune’. Hilarious!

On some other illness, check this story from Questlove about experiencing Dilla’s beat making.

Peace to the people over at Rappers I Know.

Big up to Skyzoo for unleashing a ton of joints from his archives, including untagged joints from his Corner Store Classic mixtape, his album with 9th Wonder, various guest appearances, and miscellanious joints.  We’ve been championing Skyzoo ever since he first stormed onto the scene and were lucky enough to be able to bring him down for “The Professionals” show we did earlier this year.  Sky has always had excellent taste in beats and has worked with some of the finest producers out right now, including Kanye West, DJ Premier, Black Milk, Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder, Illmind, Khrysis, Ron Browz, and more! I personally can’t wait to hear his official full-length LP, “The Salvation” which should be coming out early next year.  Anyways, check the jump for the track list and link. Smackey. That’s how you can describe the production of Boi-1da. Get in early on what could be a great career for this 22 year old. He’s already done beats for the likes of Clipse, Lil’ Wayne and Kardi and a slew of T-Dot underground joints, and the new Page hit ‘Still Fly’. With his homie Drake about to sign with Interscope, his star should continue to rise.

“Did I do thaaaat?”

One thing we haven’t done yet on DSG is do a complete rap nerd show. This is the rap nerd episode. We touch on cliche topics like top 20 MC’s of all time, the definition of old school, best dj cuts on record and one hit wonders. Late arrival Ty Harper of OTA sneaks into the convo to add his two cents.
