“Rapper Nas on topic, seems we gonna rock it/Queens represent, buy the album when I drop it!”

Well, the album finally “dropped” as a promo-only CD without any cover art or track list that was given away online with the purchase of the “The First Class” LP.  It’s really a shame it didn’t get a proper release due to the classics that are on here.  The only joints I’m not crazy about on here are “Funky 2 Listen 2″ and “Spacey”.  Enjoy.

Tip’s new album “The Renaissance” drops Nov 4th. Here’s the second video “Move”, an homage to Micheal Jackson. Check out our 8 Minutes with Tip to be posted shortly.

LOL at the Lakers announcer calling him “Joey Crawford”! If you want minutes this year, you better be doing this more often!

Why does Jamario play so soft?! Props for challenging the shot but overall, he needs some of the juice Ultimate Warrior was on to assert himself. I know I can’t be the only tired of him laying it up instead of dunking on people. Nobody’s sleeping on you this year, fam.

I know what you may be thinking, “What does this white guy in the picture have to do with anything?!”.  If not, I have underestimated you…  sorry.  Yes, that is indeed Peter Rosenberg of Hot97 and one 1/2 of our favourite podcast (other than DSG), Juan Epstein.  The reason he’s up there is because this joint will be featured on his new EP, “The Rosenberg Oddisee”, dropping next week.  I’ll let him tell it though:

“A week from tomorrow, I am dropping “A Rosenberg Oddisee”, a six song EP recorded in one day and produced entirely by my man Oddisee. This is the first record I wanted people to hear. Saigon absolutely murders this track and Lil Fame showing up was completely random. It was truly hip hop magic and don’t you worry–it was all captured on video (more on that later). The EP features tracks from Buckshot, Skyzoo, Nikki Jean, and more. It is honestly one of the best hip hop EPs I’ve ever heard. I know I’m talking mad sh*t, but I absolutely LOVE this record. And those of you unfamiliar with Oddisee–GET FAMILIAR!”

Flow 93.5′s Trauma Unit host J-Wyze had no idea what he stepped into when he agreed to be a guest on DSG. I think he may have some regrets. This week we touch on, how to politely dodge people you don’t want to go out with, Arcee’s amazement at ‘heavy set’ rappers, our early experiences with porn, and the worst thing you can do at anyone’s house!

The story goes that this is the beat tape that 9th initially gave to Jay-Z when he was taking submissions for “The Black Album”.  Jay wasn’t really feeling any of these beats and told 9th to take the R. Kelly sample and do something on the spot with it.  “Threat” was the result of that challenge, which made the album and boosted 9th’s career.

I personally think Jay was hating because there are a ton of hot beats on this CD, which ultimately got scooped by various artists (Little Brother, De La Soul, Jean Grae, etc.).  9th probably thought so too since some of the beats appeared on the Black Album Remix LP, “Black Is Back”, he did.  Anyways, nuff said, check out the 32 beats on this joint!
