Album: Desire
Directors: Briin “Briin?” Bernstein and Daniel Rosenberg

We are at WAR!

15 years since the release of Public Enemy’s ‘Welcome to the Terrodome’, it’s still creating controversy. Super emcee Pharoahe Monch is set to release his latest video of his album Desire, which is a remake of the  famous PE joint. The song has met resistance from his label Universal Music, so much so that he is parting ways with the label.  They are afraid of the lyrical content and imagery in the video.

Being the true artist he is Pharoahe has decided to release the video on his own, with the help of Toronto indie filmakers Briin “Briin?” Bernstein and Daniel Rosenberg. The video was made with next to no budget, favours and donations were needed to make it happen.

On October 31st (his birthday) he will drop the video on Okayplayer.com  and various sites, such as us! Stay tuned for the video.

It’s 2008 and people are still afraid of Hip Hop. These are a few exclusive pics from the set. Peace to Briin for hitting us up.

Little Brother Stand-Up

Little Brother Stand Up from Real Frequency on Vimeo.

Finally went to my first LB show. If you get a chance definitely check these brothers, they throw down! Not only is the music dope but Phonte’s little segues between songs are hilarious. In these clips he talks about ‘e-courage’, does a T-Pain impersonation and asks for prayer for the upcoming US election. Dude needs to do some stand-up.

Preem throws in the latest heat rocks (*), as well a few self-produced (^) joints from his camp. Don’t sleep on his promo grind, he made sure Blaq Poet represented like he did @ the Manifesto closing party.  Fortunately, this time his mic was on and an ill Preem beat doesn’t hurt either.
