We continue with our ever increasingly popular offshoot podcast. This episode, we kick it with our man Maestro, aka Maestro Fresh Wes, aka Mellow D MC. Hell ya! What you will learn this episode, Maestro’s break knowledge, production prowess, his meeting with Nas, when he was nasty, and a sing-a-long with Nice N Smooth.

The bottom line for the Real Frequency is dope music, and exposing as many people as we can to it. We’ve been privileged to speak to a lot of artists the we feel. In 2004 these brothers dropped the classic album ‘Connected‘ four years later they’re back with ‘Leave it All Behind‘. Arcee kicks it with both Phonte and Nicolay about the new project, their side projects and why the change in direction.

The album drops: Oct 7th (Digital), Oct 10th (Europe), Oct 14th (North America).

This is the sclusie bootleg of the year (so far)! I know P-Plus will co-sign me, as he was absolutely loving this, claiming it was better than the Nas LP. It’s not really a fair comparison, since this is really just a bootleg of a lot unfinished songs, but the case can be made considering the amount of fire (“Promise Land”, “Here They Come”, “911″, “Watch Me Get This Money”, “I Gotta”) on here! Wonder if the heavy production from Nottz had anything to do with it? Hhmmm, yeah.

Air Jordan 6 Rings Laser

sixes 2

Spotted over at Kicks On Fire, it’s the pair of Jordans that might make me look like a hypocrite. They are supposed to go for $150, which I will gladly pay for this feetery! These put the other joints to shame.

Oh man, this is hilarious! The King Of Da Burbz of VH1 fame drops his tribute to Republican Presidential VP candidate Sarah Palin. I’m sure everyone has heard about her extreme views by now… if not, Phonte sums her up clowns her pretty well on Gordon Gartrell Radio Episode 8.

Episode 2 of our alter-podcast, turn on the mics and this is what spews out. How much hot sauce is enough? Can Arcee enjoy a party without going to a club? What other foods hasn’t Inzane eaten? Oh, and we also talk to Dj Premier, witness Arcee’s rap nerd excitement about talking to Preem and perhaps Pete Rock at the same time about they’re upcoming “clash” at the Manifesto closing party.

The Real Frequency Sept 15th, 2008

This is the shit! Primo, Pete Rock all show and still not enough time to go through their extensive catalogs. During the show we put it to a vote Preem or Pete? Premier came out on top, but not by much. They’re both dope, duh. Who would you choose?

{democracy:8}

Catch them for real at the Manifesto Festival After Party.

I’m def-ini-tely feeling these since I am a fan of high-cut kicks.  With that being said, I will likely never own these since the prices on authentic Jordans are just ridiculous and I refuse to rock fakes (defeats the purpose).  $200? $300? Really?! How about I get like 3 fly pairs of Dunks for that price instead.  That’s how I roll, hate it or love it!

Man, am I just late or did this go under the radar? Just wondering because it came out in 2007 on VH1, guess maybe that’s why… since us Canadian folks don’t get it without satellite. This in-depth documentary features a lot of the people that were involved in the making of this border-line classic (4.5 mics in my opinion because of “Ain’t No N*gga”), including DJ Premier, Clark Kent, Mary J Blige, Ski, Sauce Money, Irv Gotti, Foxy Brown, Jaz-O, & more!
