On the low, the “Firm Biz” remix is one of the dopest Firm joints, don’t know why this didn’t end up on the album. Half-A-Mill never gets a shout out but his first LP “Million” had some joints and his follow-up, “Da Hustle Don’t Stop” had a couple as well, but didn’t live up to the first. Everybody pretty much kills this joint except for Foxy, but I’d have to give Half-A-Mill and Nas and top honours. As much as I love Nas, I have to take some points off Nas for trying to look like Pac with that wack bandana.
Ghost speaks to you (and us), his fans on downloading. Brother needs his sound scans yo! Really though he’s got a point, we got to support something. Would there be a McDonald’s if we all got it for free all the time? Ghost is always consistent with the heat. He’s one of the few that actually deserves a CD buy, 8 Diagrams however, sorry Toney can’t show love on that one. Check Arcee’s guide to buying CD’s. And Ghost if you ever get across the boarder I want that pow wow son.
I certainly hope JD is bringing this type of heat as his contribution to Nas’ new album. This joint was so hard, it was almost sounding Primo-ish. After his contributions to Jay’Z last album, “American Gangster”, I have some newfound hope for Mr. 1472’s production skills.
Seriously, if you miss it so much, why does the rest of your album (with the exception of 2 or 3 other joints) not sound like this? And when I say “like this”, I mean not ignorant.
Very creative and hilarious “inflowmercial” for Torae’s new LP, “Daily Conversation” dropping January 29. It’s good to see underground cats using inventive ways of marketing their album. The DJ Eclipse and Sean Price cameos were hilarious. The album is looking real serious production-wise and some CanCon is even sprinkled in through the contributions of Mr. Attic (of Da Grassroots) and Marco Polo. Judging from the Primo-laced joints “Click” and “Get It Done”, as well as the first single “Callin’ Me”, and the production/guest appearance lineup, this album is going to be a problem.
Some of you may have already seen or heard about this if not…
We usually only see the glamorous side of Hip Hop, cars, money, women, parties etc. Success can be a dangerous thing, some people can handle it some can’t (see Ms. Spears). 1 More Hit is a documentary about producer J Swift (Pharcyde, Wascals) he did most of Pharcyde’s first album, dude had beats!
After all his success he began a downward spiral into homelessness and crack addiction. 1 More Hit chronicles his attempt to get his life back.
You know Little Brother, you know the Hall of Justus, then you’re familiar with Jozeemo if not? Get familiar. If his verse on Little Brother’s “That Ain’t Love” of their Getback LP left you intrigued, here’s some more for ya. “The Untold Story” get the back story to the upcoming “Cry Now L.A.F. Later” LP.
Two of the best joints on “Streets’ Disciple“. Although everybody loves to shit on this album, it has its fair share of joints in my opinion. I mean, after “Nastradamus“, this is Arcee’s first argument for the eternal Jay-Z vs. Nas discography battle. But that’s okay, we need haters like AR for motivation. Anyways, don’t ask me why these videos are not the full thing, just enjoy the sclusivity.
Everyone loves free shit. So here’s your chance to get some. The first three people to correctly follow the instructions and provide the right answers will get themselves a lovely Stones Throw t-shirt courtesy of Koch Canada and the Real Freqs.
